With an intense focus on classical ballet, Kiely Groenewegen was trained in a variety of different dance styles. She completed all levels of the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus with High Distinction and further trained in both Vaganova and Cecchetti syllabus variations. She attained an Advanced Diploma of Dance from the Australian Conservatoire of Dance, a Trinity Diploma in Professional Dance from the Royal Ballet School, and a Diploma of Performing Arts from the Royal Ballet School.
Upon arriving in the USA, Kiely became an ABT certified teacher, completing the National Training Curriculum for Pre-Primary through Level 5. During her time at ABT, she immersed herself in various Balanchine ballets. Since her accreditation, she has held master classes and coaching sessions for groups of up to 50 dancers, ages 5 to 30, in both the USA and Australia.
After graduating, Groenewegen joined ABT Studio Company and became an apprentice with the main Company in May of 2017 joining the corps de ballet in December 2017. Her repertoire includes Big Swans in Swan Lake, a Harlot and Lady Montague in Romeo and Juliet, the Spanish Dance in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker, and featured roles in La Follia Variations and Indestructible Light. She has also been involved in working with a variety of choreographers, videographers and photographers in creating a body of work that is presented in a plethora of different visual mediums.
